A 'free' ball is awarded to any player who is snookered after a foul stroke.
If the 'free' ball is potted, it scores the same number of points as the ball 'on'.

Are you mean that if i have a free ball, then i choose the black ball to be the free ball, i pot the ball in, is that mean i have score 7 points then continuous to another colour ball. thanks. B.hall

No!
If the ball 'on' was yellow and you nominated the black as a free ball, the black scores 2.
If the ball 'on' was red and you nominated the black as a free ball, the black scores 1.
