I played snooker for 13 years. I still cannot handle the following situation well:
With wrong side blue ball, you need to use the top cushion and get back to the pack. Very often, my cue ball will kiss either yellow, green or brown. What"side" should I use actually?

It depends on how thick or thin your blue ball is. Different situations use different sides or tricks, hard to explain over here. |

I understand it is very hard to describe in words......
Hmmmm, let's give it a try:
If there is an angle of 45 with the blue ball, cue ball has about 1.5 feets with the blue ball, what side should I play? |

I think you can imagine in this way, the cue ball hit the blue ball. The blue ball moves forward to the middle hole of either side, the cue ball should moves forward perpendicular to the path of the blue ball when you are potting the center of the cue ball powerfully. If you adjust the cue lower to hit the cue ball, the cue ball may hit the yellow / green (depends on which side of the table you are). I do commonly play it with side-spin as the cue ball once touch the bottom cushion (assume the yellow, green and brown balls are in original positions) will move towards the cushion nearby and hence it avoids the cue ball hitting any colour ball and moving back to the area close to blue/pink/red/black balls (depends on the power you use in that shot)
Pls correct me if anything goes wrong.

So, you are suggesting to use running side instead. Correct?
Hmmm, I still want to use top cushion only, doesn't it look WONDERFUL to get the cue ball back down to the pack with using the top cushion one time only! I always get myself excited to see those professional guys on video performing this nice movement.
When it comes to me, YELLOW, GREEN or BROWN always block my way! |

It's just my preference. To use top / bottom cushion only. Hit the centre of the cue ball a little lower when potting angle less than 45' or directly the center of the cue ball when potting angle larger than 45'. you may try power shot to test.

Why don't you use top spin with medium pace. It will just miss the yellow pockect and go back to the top of the table. |

如果你係要咁型,死都唔用其他cushion,只用底cushion,咁無得傾,一定係stun running side。 |

To play some simple snooker, we can just stun the cue ball a bit and play a longer distance and harder red. But, I think, to improve to a higher level, we must try various type of placing.
Blue ball wrong side is the situation we face very often. That is why I would insists to learn the skill.
Besides, 係型 ma, hehe

可否告知如何用check side + stun 落去底chusion,不撞細分波,又好似奧穌咁樣用勁西去爆上枱的pack呢? |
