[updated:LAST EDITED ON Dec-07-02 AT 00:09 AM (GMT)] As I know, when you apply screw on cue ball, at the very first moment, the friction of the cloth and the cue ball is smaller than the cue ball's spin. When the impact occurs at this moment, the cue ball will go back to you. But when the cue balls goes for some distance, the spin on cue ball is becoming smaller and the friction of the cloth will become larger when you compare this two factors. As a result, the cue ball will start to transfer the screw (back spin) to top spin, that's the reason why you pot a dead straight long pot with back spin will become an in-off. I don't know this explanation is clear enough or not, if anybody can explain it more clearly and have the solution on this kind of shot, please correct me and post the solution here. Since i am also a beginner, want to know more on snooker. Thank you. eric |

To ginnyp , Good balance and steady body is a good start , u don`t have to stroke the lowest point of the cue ball to get a good screw back , just make sure your cue action is smooth , steady and hit the cue ball with enough power . |
