Hi Everbody,

Did somebody provide the tactic about planning a game, for example, keep the cue ball out of the cushion, keep all colors on their spot while attacking, spread the red balls, any basic concept, is it something else? And how to analize the situation? which time play safety and which time attack.

Appreciate for this information.

If you are genius like O'Sullivan, you can play attack snooker all the time.

However, in my opinion, there is only one way for us normal people to play snooker. Attack when you have chance and Play safe when there is no chance.

When you pot a ball, consider where the cue ball will be. Can you keep up having chance to pot ball after the first red? Is it JUSTIFY to pot the ball? Very often, I see people pot a hard red but end up no easy color to pot next. In this case, it does no good to pot this hard red.

When you see no red available during a break, you need to find a chance to open the pack. If no chance or too hard to open the pack, play safe.

Hopefully this help.

Hi O'Mike

Thank you for the comments, but I thought this is not I want, may be I mislead you. I should ask on another way. Just make long story short. In case I have no problem on the basic technique. Do you have a concept where should the cue ball goes for a break building. I heard from a commendator that in case we have a chance to pot the red,and for the consideration of next shot, we should selectcolors which a lot of reds around it. Otherthan this, what concept else? Sorry for too many questions but I really want to have a century break.

Thank you.

Wow, centruy...what a goal. I lost this dream long time ago, hehe.

Anyway, my sugguestion is that you need to compare where your cue ball goes for each red you choose. Say, if 2 red to choose. Case one, only black can be potted. If you lose control of your cue ball, you end up with nothing. Case 2, there is pink for a simple follow. Even if your put too much force, there is still a blue and a long green. Comparing the 2 case, case 2 is harder to get your cue ball into right position but it allows you more choose after potting the red. In my opinion, You NEED TO CHOOSE case 2 red to continue your break. This is what I think.

Ball selection is very difficult. That is why you will see people running around the table all the time to see which red will make the break building easier.

I hope you understand what I say.

Hi O'Mike,

Thank you for your reply. I got your idea. we should always select a shot which is more option for next shot.
