馬爾他盃桌球賽，中國桌球神童丁俊暉在首圈出局，以總局數二比五，不敵蘇格蘭的馬奎爾。

丁俊暉雖然以９７比７，先贏首局，但馬奎爾之後連贏三局；丁俊暉到第五局再以７８比９勝出，追至局數二比三。不過馬爾奎表現始終較佳，再連贏兩局，鎖定勝局，晉級十六強。

香港选手傅家俊发挥出色，以5-3淘汰了有“巫师”之称的苏格兰名将约翰-希金斯。

　　首局的战况有些复杂。比赛傅家俊以打进一颗难度不小的红球开始，不过也以一颗红球的进袋中止了他的进攻。因为他在进攻黑球时，不但黑球没有打进，而且还将红球撞进了袋，在自己取得29分的同时也送给了希金斯7分和一个十分好的机会。希金斯进而拿了19分，而且之后又打进了一颗红球。傅家俊在防守过程中远远地找到了一个自然角，精彩地将红球打进，再次开始得分。虽然其间他有两次都险些给自己做到斯诺克，不过还是化险为夷，一杆又打了17分，以46-26领先。这之后希金斯又打进了一红一蓝，并且给傅家俊做了一杆斯诺克。但傅家俊却将母球打向远远的球台上方并且利用反弹漂亮地将右下角底袋口的红球打进，但这一杆他也只不过打了6分。此时台面上已经没有红球，希金斯将粉球打进时正好与傅家俊打成52平，随着最后一颗黑球进袋，希金斯也以7分的优势取得1-0的领先。

　　第二局中希金斯的一杆防守漏洞再次放给了傅家俊远球机会，傅家俊将红球打进，并且拿下了16分。在经过了上时间的防守之后，希金斯率先打破了僵局，并且一口气打了44分。接下来轮到了傅家俊进攻，并且取得了64-44的领先。在之后互相做斯诺克的过程中，希金斯打进了一颗红球，但击打蓝球出现失误，随后而傅家俊则将2分、3分、4分打进扳回一局。

　　第三局希金斯首先拿下12分，之后傅家俊也通过流畅的进攻打出51分，在击打蓝球时母球摔袋，送给了希金斯5分。希金斯很快抓住机会，不过在打了24分时出现失误，而台上的局势对傅家俊十分有利，还落后10分的希金斯这一局投球认输。

　　第四局傅家俊先得25分，之后又借由希金斯的希金斯的防守空档开始得分，并且一杆拿下62分，带着3-1的领先结束了上半场。

　　下半场傅家俊再次首先得分，拿了13分。之后有一鼓作气打了61分，在赢下这一局的同时也拿到了赛点。

　　不过希金斯并没有这么早就放弃。第六局中，他秋风扫落叶般的一杆80分使他扳回了一局。

　　第七局开局希金斯的一次防守中母球摔袋，送给傅家俊4分。不过紧接着希金斯也找到了机会，拿下31分。傅家俊也趁机打了23分。不过剩下的表演是时间就全都属于希金斯了，他的一杆62分，是比分差距缩小到只胜一局。

　　第八局，经过了漫长的防守希金斯终于打进了一颗袋口的红球，不过这一次他只打了12分。稍后他的一杆解球失误又送给了傅家俊4分。又是漫长的防守和试探，轮到了傅家俊抓住机会，拿下了36分。多次的尝试进攻之后，傅家俊又打进了一颗红球，并且将总分累加至69分，一举拿下了比赛。

　　比赛中，傅家俊的身后一直有人手举一块写有“傅家俊加油”的牌子来为他打气。也许正是场上有中国人为自己加油的缘故，傅家俊最终顶住了压力，如愿晋级16强。

４－４，打決勝局，卡特己打左三十幾度，一球籃波中袋因稍薄因而打失左，到亨特利出場打左十幾度，很關鍵的一球接近貼低咕既紅波,cut微薄左千萬份之一(個人估計），停左係袋口，即意味著，我的偶像八強賽行人止步!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
