For the cue weight, I think many people know how many oz. you should use? When we consider the front-balance and back-balance, something we feeling it has more or light weight than it should be.
Hope to hear some impression on front-balance and back-balance. For example, the advantages and disadvantages of both type; or feelings, etc.

Hey, I thought this was a rather interesting topic.
For me, I am used to playing a cue where the balance is right in the centre. However, i bought a JP recently and the weight leans towards the back (near hand). I am still getting used to the feeling of it.
Anyone have any comments on this?

This is a forum for us to discuss things, if we need to meet to discuss then the objective of this forum is meaningless.
I think these days most cues have balance point at around 17-19 inches from the butt end (1pc, 1/2, or 3/4). But some cues feel more forward weighted, because of denser wood being used. Some wood has wider tapering and the cue appears thicker, and you feel the cue heavier at front. some less dense wood, with thinner tapers, make the cue feel light. So the balance point for cues are always similar, but the weight distribution along the cues is different.
I feel that cues that feel more backward balance, are good for short distance pots; and can initiates good cue action. More forward weighted cues are good stun shots and long pots. The feel is individual to person, so its hard to say good or bad. Need to play with both and see.

好，試試將自已知道嘅野講出嚟大家研究，講錯大家唔好介意，正如上面朋友所講希望呢區除咗買賣多d討論有關技術問題。
要知道重心前傾同後傾嘅分別，首先要明白Q棍擊中白波時的一些基本物理原理 :-
1) 要白波有高轉數，Q頭要（A）高速擊中白波 或 (B) 大力擊中白波 或（C）高速及大力擊中白波；
2) Q是手部動作的伸延，我們可以看作枕手是支點，握手是產生將Q向前推的發力點，一個簡單的活塞動作，不過只有枕手一點規限住Q棍的直線性。
3) Q棍行進時，會產生（動能）及（向量），動能會影響擊中白波的力量，向量則影響Q棍行進的慣性（直線性）。
好了，了解以上基本原理就可以開始討論Q棍重心的問題。

重心，其實就是球杆的平衡，如何更好地利用杆的慣性去擊球，同時又利於球員對杆的控制，每個制杆師會有他不同的理解。而不同的球員也會對如何擊球有不一樣的理解和習慣。就象杆頭大小、重量等球杆參數，一般會在標準範圍記憶體在差異。
以我所見的幾個世界知名品牌球杆重心，一般在42-46CM左右。

好，跟住再講其他野最後先討論Q棍重心問題。
好多人以為打screw back要“扯” 得越勁就要越大力打在白波上，這個觀念其實錯誤，因為 :-
1) 白波越大力打在color波上，角度就會越走闊，高低Q及stun shot均是；
2) 白波越高轉數打在color波上，角度就會越走窄，高低Q均是。
所以高低Q要勁，就要控制白波是以最高轉數最小力量擊中color波，可惜轉數要高，Q頭就要高速擊在白波上（本文暫不述follow through的影響），為求將Q棍加速到最高速度，波手就冇可避免地需要將Q用力推出加速。
所以各位朋友會見到一些球員打遠枱screw back時發現扯得唔夠勁或者走得唔夠窄，球員都會說“Timing唔夠！” 而唔係“唔夠大力！” ，因為每一個資深球員都知道，screw back要勁，如何控制Q頭於最高速的時候擊中白波的Timing先至係要訣。
所以球手將Q加速的能力絕對影響高低Q的質量，這一點每個球手的肌肉構造都會不同，這時候一支適合你嘅Q就會有所幫助，如果冇適合嘅Q，經過球手自已反思及改進，基本上絕大部份嘅Q都可以做出所有Q法，不用太過迷信Q棍的神效，問題只係你能否適應，當然能夠針對自已嘅風格及打波模式而搵到一支適合的Q將會事半功倍。
唔好意思，好長氣，因為桌球技術其實好多野可以講，如果大家唔介意，我每日寫少少大家交流吓，都係個句，有錯唔好介意並請指正，等小弟都可以知多d。

所以歸納以上所講嘅野，你會發現 :-
1) 支Q越輕越容易加速，即係越容易高速擊中白波，而因為輕Q起動力較少，所以比較重Q較容易打出不同的力度，俗稱白波較“生” （例如半枱中力高轉數的高中低Q法） ，不過因為輕Q本身的位能較少，所以由球手推出轉化為動能時也會較少，這樣直線慣性也會較低，所以對球手出Q姿勢的直線要求便更高，這種出Q直線姿勢的高要求通常會隨年歲變差，所以各位朋友會見到很多球手例如Hendry, Davis等他們於年輕時均是打16.5安士上下的Q，當年紀大了巔峰期不再便轉打較重的Q，犧牲的是白波的一點點“生” ，換來的是射波的多一點點“準” 。
2) 同樣道理支Q越重就擁有更高的直線慣性，射波是會準一些的，不過因為重Q起動力需要較大，所以較難打出不同的力度，俗稱白波較“死”。如果白波要打得生，球手便必須要有天賦嘅本錢，例如以前的Jimmy White，現在的Williams，他們的出Q加速能力極高，所以能夠打多旋轉力高於白波動能的Q法，而Jimmy White因為支Q十分重（印象中好像是20-22安士），所以無可避免地會打出力量與轉數十分高的低Q，因為力量大所以白波先走闊，然後高轉數再走窄，變成Banana Shot，其實只要明白竅門，你一樣有機會做到。如果沒有這種天賦嘅本錢，除非透過其他改進方法鍛煉二，三頭肌的爆炸力，否則便會像某“神奇”職業選手（名就不述了，因為一開名就會俾好多香港fans插死）般，佢打嘅波永遠都好死，好多波你會見到轉數永遠不能超越力量，最慘就係做唔到絕對線位，要key左面半波往往key咗右面半波，要走快d只能打大力d而不能做到利用轉數走快d或者走窄d。不過當然就算白波好“死” 都可以打過百打147，不過去到最高水平嘅職業賽，不能打出多種Q法，不能打出絕對線位就一定蝕。所以經過幾季俾人睇通咗就冇威脅性，其實如果呢位球手換一支輕多半安士嘅Q如果發現準繩度不變，佢可能會能夠將出Q加速能力提高，到時隻白波“生” 番又是另一遍天空了。小弟不清楚這位球手用幾重的Q，不過如果輕於17安士而只能打出這種“死” 波，確是神奇。
一般來說我們以17.5安士為中位數，輕過17.5安士我們稱為輕Q，17.5安士以上我們稱為重Q，不過當然因人而異，只供參考。
其實所謂Q法就是白波擊中color波時擁有幾大動能及幾高轉數，記住動能走闊轉數走窄（完全直shot不計），加上必要時的一丁點兒“西” ，就能夠變化萬千，就係咁簡單。
