Hi brothers, just a couple of questions about my cue
Before knowing this forum, i had ordered a mastercue pro-butt 4 directly from mastercue website.
The cue arrived just yesterday and working fine, but it doesn't have the white veneers like the photo in the mastercue website has. They made me a plain-wood-colour veneer instead
Btw, my cue is 54.5 inches, just not sure if that was the reason which made them not to put the white veneers on as the cue wasn't made in standard length 57-58.
Most importantly, there are some 'black fades' between the matchups of the veneers and the ebony. This gives me doubt if my cue butt is an ebonized butt (sprayed to black) instead of a real african ebony butt.
I'm happy to send the cue photos to anyone who would like to help me identify the craftsmanship.
Cheers.

hey man... initially it sounds alright, it's normal for ebony to have patches these days, most importantly, is how close and fine the grain of the wood is, which usually needs to be seen in person, but it was ebonised, it usually looks very fake, but the sure way to tell, is to cut open the butt which is not really a good suggestion! ;) But if you ordered your cue directly from Master, I doubt it will have ebonised wood as the butt... |

oh, currently I'm back for working, but depending on many factors, I could either be staying in HK or going back to Aus, which I don't know yet... :D |

Yes i played in comp for once only coz i just started learning snooker not long, like 3 months. You said concord, do you mean the concord RSL club? I went there before, but they don't have any snooker tables. I usually play in Burwood RSL which is not far from concord. The casual comp i played was held at Burwood. |
