In my opinion if the cue is suit for you that will be a good cues. Remember not the cues make you become a good player. A Long time ago I still really care about the brand of the cues and most of my friends in UK they are using the Riley and parris cues, also i think bought the expensive cues then I will play more good. That's what I thought when i am young. After few more years my friends and me heard someone said about Craftman cue is good. After we went to there and try the cues we did found out Craftman's cue the quality is very good and the price is ok too! and the quality is nearly the same as the parris cues.So I understand the difference between Craftman cues and John Parris cues is the brand name. All the woods used come from the same timber source. The ash and ebony come from the same supplier. The same manufacturing methods are used by all cue makers. parris cue is based in London so will get London prices for parris cues. Parris and Riley also states their cues are played with by so many of the top 10 professionals. That's why so expensive!
John Parris cues have recently been notorious for the joints coming out or loose. Few of my friends had that happen before! then they brought the cues to fixed up by craftman! But my John Parris cues still very good! In my opinion both cues are very good just the difference between the brand and the price! Also The Parris and Riley cues is not the best in England already! I did heard about the master cues is not bad, from the Englishman. But I didn't try that before!
PS. The craftman is not the best cues in the world and the parris cues is not a bad cues too,But I think no need to care about the brand of the cue, just only have to care about is the cues quality and it is suit for u or not! That will be the best cue in the world for you!
One more thing i want to tell you guys is, I did know the machine splice of the Riley cues is made in china now but the hand splice one still made in England. So if u guys want to buy the Riley cues have to think about it!
