1. 買個新 HardDisk (Western Digital : WD Caviar Special Edition 7200, 40 GB, 7200 RPM, 8 MB RAM, model # : WD400JB) $490
2. 加 RAM 到 total 256 MB RAM (大約 200 per 128 MB RAM)
安裝 WIndows XP Pro 系個新 HardDisk 到, 吾好 upgrade 舊 Windows. HardDisk Format 選做 NTFS, Display 專做 High Color (16 Bits). 甘部電腦的應該都可以用多兩年.

Thank you for your advice last time. I fixed my computer by using norton2003. All trojan virus were fixed and deletted. My computer is a Compaq "presario7597", also P3, it has 320M ram, hard drive 20G. using windows chinese xp. Do I have to upgrade it? What do you mean the computer will have a longer use? Do you mean P3 computer will soon be died? |

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-03 AT 02:31 PM (GMT)]因為你部電腦的裝置如果吾 upgrade, 你部電腦會越來越慢. 慢到一個情況就等於死. 如果你用的是 5400 RPM harddisk, 相對於現在的 7200 RPM with 8 MB RAM 的 HardDisk. 新的會有更好的 performance. 不過如果你對你部電腦的速度滿意, 甘就好啦.
這建議系比那些乃想用佢部 PIII 的朋友, 只是用幾百元就可以另部電腦好用o的. |

我加到 512mb ram, 因為 當其時係 sd ram...好鬼平...1蚊1mb...
仲有我用了隻快 hdd, 真係stable 過好多機，我用 w2000 真情兩個星期唔熄機當 server run 都得！
當然部機係 dell 啦！dell 是老標的至愛。佢介紹我用的。 |

Help!
I got two computers, but my main computer got screwed-up. I try to started the computer but failed. It doesn't boot-up at all. So I try to boot it up with windowsXP CDRom and I got an errors message as follows:-
File\i386\c_950.n1s could not be loaded. the error code is 7
Any body could tell me what is wrong with my computer?
I also could not find the path of CDROM drive, why?
I try to start it with windows 98 system startup flopy, When I got the C: and then I type in D: but it could not find the Drive D:
please someone help me. |

BUT, not everyone can do it. It is a suggestion for people who want to keep his/her computer running and get better performance for minimal expense.

If you boot from XP cd-rom and get the error above. You should find another XP setup cd. Seem your current one may not function.
When you boot from Windows 98, it may not see the cd-rom because the driver of cd-rom doesn't support by win98.
Also, please check your computer hardware and those cable is properly connected.
