Assuming that you have no restriction on income proof....

1. check which welcome gift fits you most

2. the one with longest annual fee waiver although it is likely that the anuual fee will be waived anyway on renewal.

3. special need such as asia miles. Cathay Visa has the best conversion ratio.

4. HSBC credit cards can be used to pay tax and utility bills for extra points.

5. Standard Chartered Bank has 5% fee on gas on top of double bonus points as compared to other card, if you are a driver.

6. some cards has higher cash bonus (more than usual 0.5%). Check it yourself for recent update.

7. Special privilege for cards issued by bank and professional organization.

8. avoid those 'troublesome' issuing bank. I don't like BXX personally.

As far as I know, DBS has a higher cash rebate. (not sure 0.625%) but payable only the next year.

However, please check yourself for recent update.

For your information, 25000 points for 100 Parknshop coupon is equivalent to 0.4% rebate.
