尋日去聽左 Dr. John Nash 親自 presented 既talk，其實都係關於 Game Theory，好正呀，我地仲笑佢仲有個 Enternal Beautiful Mind ^^
個題目好正 "Predict the Unpredictable"
不過佢都老喇，講得唔係好清楚
所以我想知有無人睇過而明佢既 Game Theory 呀??
我都想清楚D知道大概係用乜野理論推斷經濟行為??
同點解contradict with Adam Smiths ??
好似好深，唔該呀 ^^

嘩,,,真係好鬼深,
你都係問番o的教授好o的,
依稀記得john nash呢位諾貝爾經濟學家,
提及Game Theory & Nash equilibrium,
好多人用1962古巴導彈危機o黎illustrate..
主要論述 mixed strategies 的影響.
btw, 我唔係讀經濟o既...hahhahhahah

Based on my limited Knowledge of microeconomics, the Game theory is the study of alternative strategies that oligopolists may adopt, depending on their assumptions about their rivals' behaviour.
is good to deal with the imperfect competition.
The most interesting thing is the Prisoner's Dilemma, i love this one.....
Prisoners' Dilemma:
Suppose that A and B have been arrested for a joint crime of serious fraud. Each interviewed separately and given the folloing alternatives:
1 ) If they say nothing, they both to a year's imprisonment
2) If either A or B alone confresses, he/she is likey to get only a 3 months senterce but the partner could get up to 10 years.
3) If both confess, they are likely to get 3 years each.
The result is most interesting for me, They both confess of course..
The main point of this theory i think is about to predict other firm's behaviour, cos the oligopoly is too complex .

but i want to know the core about that theory
i have such ideas of the basic terms, but i want to know how the unpredictable behaviours, even though the assumption is fit only in rational reality, but by maxmize our willings and abailities to achieve goals, how can how all the possibilities be countable and predictable outcomes?

but in imperfect competition such as Oligopoly, that 's too complex.
Those economists want keep everything as simple as it can, therefore the advantage of the game-theory approach is that the firm does not need to know which response its rival will make. However, it must be able to measure the effect of each possible resopnse. This will be virtually impossible to do with many firms competing and many different possible response. This approach is useful, only in relatively simple case, and the estimates of profit from each outcome may amount to no more than a rought guess.

I have thinking to write my philosophical paper comparing the "game-theory" with the "hard determinism" in metaphysics.
Thanks, you gave me some useful information, i will go further about this topic, let's share with you later on. But coming this week, i have to fight with three exams >.<
