Premier League after the latest round of matches.
Played out in front of packed houses at the Flint Pavilion in North Wales, O'Sullivan beat Williams 5-3 after being 3-0 down but the Welshman comfortably saw off Jimmy White 6-2 to move in to the last four.
Elsewhere, Steve Davis fought back to draw 4-4 with Marco Fu, but lost 5-3 to Peter Ebdon, and Fu also took a point from his clash with John Higgins, which finished 4-4.
There was some world class snooker on display with Fu and Davis both notching two century breaks, and Ebdon and O'Sullivan also hitting the three figure mark.
But the real story was O'Sullivan missing an opportunity to score a world record 148 break in his match against Williams when he was given a free ball before anything had been potted, effectively creating a 16th red.
O'Sullivan rattled in a 114 total but missed the final black before the colours and the chance went begging.
