FU FIGHTER HALTS HENDRY
Determination and a winning attitude are the qualities associated with the Chinese New Year of the Monkey, which began yesterday. Marco Fu showed those in abundance tonight as he stunned Stephen Hendry in the Welsh Open.
The Hong Kong player came from 4-2 down, and 47-0 behind in the seventh frame, to win 5-4 and reach the semi-finals of the LG Electronics Tour event. It was a momentous victory for world No 19 Fu, his first over Hendry in a ranking tournament.
The 26-year-old will face another snooker grandmaster, Steve Davis, for a place in the final tomorrow. It means a lot to me to beat Stephen in a ranking event for the first time,?said the man from Happy Valley. I have been practising with him regularly and I have learned a lot because he is the greatest player in the world.
It would be a dream come true to beat Steve Davis tomorrow and reach the final because he is another legend. The match will be a lot of fun and I think we?ll both enjoy it.?P>The first four frames of a high-quality contest tonight were shared, Fu making breaks of 83 and 58 and seven-times world champion Hendry responding with 64 and 89.
The Scot appeared to take control after the interval, rattling in a 123 (the 631st century of his career) and going 4-2 up with 43 and 44 in the sixth. He was on a break of 47 in the next before breaking down after a slightly loose positional shot.
Fu forced a safety error from his opponent then made 56 before winning a safety battle on the green to go 4-3. He got the better of a scrappy frame eight, then took his opportunity in the decider with a match-winning 47 after Hendry had missed a black off the spot trying to open a cluster of reds.
I couldn't have asked for a tougher draw (he has beaten Liu Song, Matthew Stevens, Ken Doherty and now Hendry), so I didn't fancy my chances when I came here, added Fu, runner-up in the 1998 Grand Prix and the reigning Premier League champion. but I have taken my practice form on to the match table.

威廉...我都話左今鋪Marco掂架啦~~
但係o黎緊對Steve Davis我就有D擔心..Marco就係咁,當你以為牌面高Do既時候(Marco呢個比賽先後擊敗Doherty同Hendry),佢就會發揮唔出水準~~

點知fit成咁
今年開季最fit果兩個, Matthew Stevens同Stephen Hendry都打贏
睇黎Steve Davis都唔係佢果皮

I think Marco's mental conditoin is very good in this rankning event. coz he lost to Jimmy White at the Premier league a week before, I thought his condition is not good. But as we see in this tournament, he can adjust his pace and thinking, i think it is the reason he can beat Ken and Hendry. If he can keep on working calm, i think he has big chance to enter the final.

3-6完場, Davis呢場波好似食左偉哥咁, 一個正常46歲亞伯有乜可能打到咁既波, 佢莓左咁多年無啦啦今晚發癲, 根本冇野好講. |
